Reflections of the Year

JA members have completed another exciting and memorable year with the children of this community. So, this email blast will reflect on those activities that have taught us about our organization, community, and ourselves.

Fall Wine and Cheese
In October, active members gathered with life and associate members to show their appreciation, visit with them, and introduce the provisional class.

Great food and conversation were enjoyed by many of the members. Several of our active members welcome a provisional member.

Education Opportunities
Throughout the year, education activities were provided to help us become better members, citizens, and individuals. These included learning Parliamentary procedures, dine and design ideas, production skills, and news of the Children’s museum in Jackson.

Spring Luncheon
In April, active, life, and associate members gathered at the Cleveland County Club to acknowledge the accomplishments of the year, honor “outgoing” active members as life and associate members, recognize members who went “above and beyond” and those who will serve as the 2010-2011 board.

Mary Elizabeth Jeffreys passes the gavel to incoming President, Deborah Cox. JA members recognized for outstanding service were Leslie Tabb, Sarah Alyward, and Claire Rogers.

Support NAJA
You can help continue the work of all auxiliaries, including the Cleveland Junior Auxiliary, by purchasing a copy of Silver Spoons, Blueberry Afternoons. This NAJA cookbook is a collection of recipes from Junior Auxiliary Chapters in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, and Texas. It is filled with NAJA history and stories of how children are being helped throughout our communities. You can get your copy(ies) for $24.95 each plus shipping and handling ($6/1st book; $3/each additional) by calling NAJA at 800-748-3020 or online at www.najanet.org

“Ten in 2010” is a fund-raising campaign by NAJA in which they are asking every active, associate and life member to donate at least $10 to the Foundation in the year 2010. The funds raised will “enhance and support financially educational, leadership, cultural and healthcare training programs for NAJA members”. We hope you will consider participating in this campaign by completing the donation form below and returning to the NAJA Foundation.
